 User Research Basics

User Research focuses on different observation techniques and methods to understand user behaviors, needs, and motivations. One method is card sorting, which allows users to group information about your site. Another example is contextual interviews, which is when one observes the user in their natural environment to see how they work and think.

Individual Interviews

The goal of individual interviews is to understand the user's desires, attitudes, and experiences. This method consists of a one-on-one interview to ask questions about the user and the site. This is different than other interviews because it is not a group interview and you do not observe the user in their natural workspace.
